Lovecraft's short story, "Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family," this film embodies all the things we value most in independent film and is an impressive example of doing a lot with very little. The film's strength lies in the storytelling, excellent performances, and smart choices about what to show and what to leave to your imagination, unlike conventional Lovecraft adaptations which fail due to overwrought special effects and scripts that just don't get cosmic horror right. Also on the disc are two bonus short films: "Ink" by Ashlea Wessel "Beast in the Cave" by Cameron McCasland Approx runtime 105 minutes NTSC, region 0, English, no subtitles. Dead Tongues was made possible through crowdfunding, grants, and Northwestern University's student group, Applause for a Cause.

豆瓣电影影评：我其实是想给DORN DEAD4颗星的，但是稍微回味了一会儿，觉得它不值，还是三星半吧。其实，我一向对恐怖片非常宽容，甚至可以大言不惭的说，在国内和国际制作水平差距极大的情况下，我就是“双标”——都不在一个起跑线上，根本没法比呀。所以经常出现国外影片堪堪尚可，我却只给三星及格，恐怖片只是稍微拍出了一点点好看，我就会给三星及以上，如果演员演技爆炸或者剧本极佳，我也不会吝啬我的5星，但是如果按照给国外影片打分的标准，这些恐怖片可能通通都只能有三四颗星以下。
